Richard Berger has spent most of his life in Southern California and currently resides in El Segundo, California.  He received a Masters in Art Education from California State University at Los Angeles and his Bachelors in Fine Arts from California State University at Northridge where he studied under Bauhaus graduate Fritz Faiss.  During that period Richard learned painting and color theory techniques that were taught at the Bauhaus in Germany.

 

Richard has worked as an Art Coordinator and a freelance illustrator. For several years he worked as an illustrator in the Aerospace industry for various companies, including Jet Propulsion Lab and Rockedyne. For twenty years he was the Visual Communication Chairperson and full-time professor at the American InterContinental University, Los Angeles and has also worked as an adjunct art faculty at El Camino College and Rio Hondo College.   Richard’s artwork has been published in art magazines and he has had exhibitions in galleries and museums.  He is a member of the prestigious, International Guild of Realism.  Richard has also won numerous art awards including the International “Airbrush Excellence Award” 1993 and 2013, 1st place.   For several years he exhibited his Photorealistic paintings at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Sales and Rental Gallery.
